The dessert table.
I'm pretty sure I've set a new record for how many sweets I've consumed this week. And it's all because my cousin has mad baking skills.
[Isn't she beautiful?]
Her turkey cupcakes are the cutest! Almost too cute to eat, even. (But I couldn't resist...) And let me tell you, they taste even better than they look. Lula will have her own cake baking show one of these days, I'm sure.
Some crazy Cajuns.
[Uncle Alfred and the girls after a long day.]
This is what happens when you wake up at 2:15 in the morning to go Christmas shopping on Black Friday. Somehow we lasted a whole eight hours (a step up from last year) before finally conking out at Chick-fil-A. I've only got a few more gifts to buy/make, and I'll be set for the rest of the season! Boy, do I feel accomplished.
I don't waste any time.
My Christmas List (In Preparation for Black Friday):
Let the Christmas shopping begin!
A post that is long overdue.
After a whole two weeks of indescribable anguish (not really) without my pocket-sized digital camera, I've finally retrieved it from my dear friend, Megan, who's had my most prized possession since October 31st, when I accidentally left it at her apartment. How could I have been so irresponsible...? Lord knows I don't go anywhere without that handy dandy little camera, if I can help it. (All of the Halloween excitement must have gotten to me.) But alas, my *pictures of the wonderful night have been uploaded and are ready to be shared!
[Because of my terrible tendency to procrastinate, this "costume" was put together in less than thirty minutes. I was going for a Modern-Day Cleopatra.]
[Megan dressed up as a Valentine's Day Card. Haha.]
[Our Halloween dinner consisted of whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, eyeball pancakes, and...]
[...my very own surprise birthday cake!]
Needless to say, we had tons of fun. But good golly, am I ready for Thanksgiving Break!
*Sorry about the grainy quality of the photos. This camera is getting old, and it looks like I might need a replacement soon. (Hooray for Christmas lists!)
Favorite songs.
Five songs that I tend to play on repeat:
1. "Only Hope" by Switchfoot
2. "You Are Loved" by Josh Groban
3. "Winter Song" by Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson
4. "Dream" by Priscilla Ahn
5. "Earth Angel" by The Penguins
As much as I love them all, "Only Hope" will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Spring 2011.
